He sold Florida on his role as a "job creator" and spent millions of his own money to complete the sale, so to speak. Once Rick Scott was in office, he boasted about one of those first businesses to bring jobs to Florida, Vision Airlines.
Just two years later however, the airline abandoned flights to Fort Walton Beach, and its contractual obligations there.
This wouldn't be the first time Scott has made promises and failed to make good on them, and no doubt it won't be the last. He has plenty of time left in office.
But while he seems to see governing Florida as similar to a game of Monopoly, in hindsight, this quote certainly didn't help to illustrate otherwise:
"This is going to be fun. This is our chance. We are going to win."
