Well that didn't take long. Republicans were immediately twisting themselves into pretzels to criticize President Obama's actions in Libya this week. The hawks and warmongers have reversed their positions and suddenly find themselves opposed to military action of any Democratic kind.
Also, you might be surprised to learn that, THIS JUST IN: military actions like this one cost money! REAL money, unlike wars under GOP rule, and things like tax cuts, which don't go into the budget and just plain don't count. Nope, this one has a hefty price tag and well, quite frankly, we just can't afford it. Way to go President Obama, now the Republicans will have to go and find something new to defund!
Republican hypocrisy is so predictable these days, but no member's reaction is probably as foreseeable as John McCain's. It was only a matter of time before the wise old "get off my lawn" sage weighed in on just how wrong the President was about the whole Libya predicament. After all, McCain is the ranking member of the Senate Armed Services Committee.
So tell us Sen. McCain, how wrong was the President, and when did you know it?
“He (President Obama) waited too long, there is no doubt in my mind about it. But now, it is what it is,” McCain said in an interview on CNN’s “State of the Union” taped Friday. “We need now to support him and the efforts that our military are going to make. And I regret that it didn’t – we didn’t act much more quickly, and we could have.”
So President Obama waited too long did he? "There's no doubt in your mind?"
Oh wait. We're talking about Muammar Gaddafi. The same Muammar Gaddafi who you spent some time with "on his ranch" back in 2009 when you praised him for his peacemaking efforts. Remember? Sure you do, when you said this:
You've got to hand it to Sen. McCain, when it comes to picking "leaders" he sure is a maverick!
Or, I mean no, he's NOT a maverick. Or is he?
Oh heck, who can keep track?
