It's been a busy week for the governor, especially now that he's talking to reporters and mingling with the public in donut shops and such, so it's hard to keep up to speed on what he's been up to.
Here's a bit of a recap in case you want to know what he's done for you lately:
Not a firm believer of "you're entitled to your own opinion, but not your own facts" Rick Scott continues to use his own "facts" to explain why Florida can't have nice things like high-speed rail. And jobs. Why say $280 million when you could say $1 billion, right Dr. Evil...I mean Gov. Scott? PolitiFact Says False
Just a guy talking football, jobs, the wrong facts on high-speed rail (again), and the price of a Bucs ticket. Scott promises jobs, jobs, jobs while unemployment soars, then tells Floridians what a bargain a $35 ticket to a game is, as they contemplate whether to buy food or school supplies this week: "I would've liked that light rail, but don't worry about that."
Speaking of the great and powerful "job creator," 500 jobs from a Florida company just went to....Gov. Scott's BFF in Texas, Rick Perry. Texas Rick happy. Florida Rick? Not so much. Guess the Key Lime pie wasn't enough?
The governor says he's reading the news these days, but it looks like he missed one. His staff probably should have read it too before they sent the thank you note. Oops. Guess he doesn't subscribe just for the articles?
Democratic lawmaker Darryl Rouson points out that middle class workers in Florida feel a "disconnect" with the governor. (Go figure.) Scott promptly disconnects from the conversation.
Scott celebrates health care ruling over the ACA mandate, in his continuing quest to block your health care. But don't worried, he's still covered by the state plan. He also feels that's none of your business.
The controversial plan to allow private contractors to build and operate campsites at state parks came from a push to create private-industry jobs to help Gov. Rick Scott fulfill a campaign promise. Rick Scott may not use email, but other state officials still do.
Scott hires another Tea Partier. Salary: $70,000. Nice work if you can get it?
Scott claims he's being courted for VP by several candidates because, you know, he's the "jobs" guy and that's the key to the White House in 2012. Of course Scott has no more of a jobs plan than any other Republican out there. They just say "job creation" a lot because it sounds good....
