Serious discussions on shootings, murders, and gun violence can be so boring!
Republican Rep. Dennis Baxley, funeral director and author of Florida's Stand Your Ground Law appeared to be sleeping through a hearing today on whether or not there should be changes made to the law, judging by this photo in a Tweet by Tampa Bay Times reporter Michael Van Sickler.
Republicans in Tallahassee have vowed to make no changes in the law. The least Baxley could do is pay attention during the hearing and listen to what others have to say.
I guess that's just too much to ask.
Follow up: I'm told by Van Sickler that Baxley wasn't sleeping, so I'll go out on a limb and assume he was indeed just bored, given that the outcome of the hearing was a forgone conclusion. Not only did they vote to let the SYG law "stand" but they voted to expand on it. They plan to make firing warning shots just dandy now too.
Because, of course they would.
